Long before the founding of the company, Jan became part of the Apache CouchDB project, and has been an active contributor ever since. Over the years, several of our team members became contributors as well, and we’ve always been supporting and promoting the project wherever possible. It is, of course, also our favourite database to work with in our day-to-day business.

There has always been a close connection between CouchDB and PouchDB, and the two projects were in communication even before PouchDB’s first commit. In recent years, our company has become more involved in maintaining the Open-Source project, and has been instrumental in getting PouchDB accepted into the Apache Software Foundation Incubator.
