Structured Query Server: Unlock your database for everyone. Access insights in SQL, the language your team already knows

We’re celebrating our 10th birthday by giving away five (5) licenses for Structured Query Server (SQS). SQS is the tool that gives more teammates access to your CouchDB data in SQL. Here’s everything you need to know about grabbing your license.

While members of our team have been building and working with CouchDB for more than 15 years, Neighbourhoodie was founded in 2014. Over the past decade we’ve worked to make the technology we love more accessible, efficient and impactful. Structured Query Server (SQS) is one of the solutions that does just that.

What Is SQS?

SQS makes SQL queries possible in CouchDB, empowering more teammates to work with a database and extract data without sacrificing performance. When we launched it in March 2024, we put together a detailed introduction to SQS that covers functionality and set-up. Here are some of the highlights:

  • SQS allows you to use complex SQL SELECT statements with your NoSQL CouchDB.
  • It can speed workflows up and make them more efficient while maintaining performance and the full function of replication features.
  • With it, you get an HTTP interface that returns JSON without the need for an SQL client.

This fast indexing tool is capable of handling millions of documents per database, and is normally purchased once-off via a license for 1490 EUR (excl. VAT).

Who Should Apply?

SQS is for teams who want to enable smarter decision-making by simplifying data access. It can help people in specific roles make the most of what is at the core of your business, your data. For example:

  • Data Analysts can navigate your database without development resources
  • Product Managers can uncover insights independently and regularly

At the same time, it won’t compromise long-term stability or scalability. Your engineers will appreciate that it is designed for all but the most extreme scaling setups (and if you had to wonder if it might apply to you, chances are not high it does).

It doesn’t need to be comprehensive, just something that will give us a rough idea of your use case. We’ll reach out to let you know if you were successful. In return, we ask that you share some feedback about SQS by responding to a 10 minute survey once you are up and running.

The special offer is for the current version of SQS and is available for a limited time. Our gift doesn’t include support which can be purchased separately.

The SQS Support subscription is 44 EUR per user per month. It’s for you if you want help with installation, usage and advanced features to ensure you’re using best practices to get the most out of SQS and your data.
